At 06:15:06Z the MySQL server on this host shut down. When it came back up, it didn’t recognize the password for my database user.
Going back in there and resetting the password restored everything.
There are… pretty much no clues as to what happened in there. I’m not seeing any signs of intrusion or anything (for once!)… I’m thinking…. gremlins.

Then at the other end, months ago, the vertical and horizontal got mixed up… Surprise, after fixing that, some meters now move farther to the right…

Turns out, well, it was my own damn fault – I had phpmyadmin installed, forgot all about it, and the Chinese spambots were just hammering on that until they got in.
Meanwhile, the city of Redding got hammered by a foot of snow and couldn’t deal. I’d rather take the SQL cleanup over that.

Although, the site looks kinda crunchy now. All content should be there and the Javascript links that were inserted to redirect viewers to some credit card spam site now aim at a big fat 404 from http://aktiv-schaum.kg4cyx.net (harmless but, it’ll need a proper cleanup later). I didn’t have the courage to try to use the SQL replace statement to nuke the entire <script>…. string… so I just borked its URL.
Yeah, promptly upon bringing everything up to date this site got compromised. Stand by, I’m cleaning up.
Just a quick note: this server is once again a Dogecoin node. Much blockchain. So decentralized. Wow.
You may manually add it from the Dogecoin client’s console if you’re experiencing slow sync– it should be FAST.
Please note there is no wallet stored on this server, so there’s no buried treasure within. 😉
